After completing his graduation as a registered nurse, Kastriot Komani worked for several years at the University Hospital in Basel, Switzerland on the cardiology and pneumology department as a staff nurse. After several years of on the job experience, he completed his Bachelor of Science in Nursing, specializing in acute care. To expand his skills, he made the switch from acute care to rehabilitation care and started to work at the Swiss Paraplegic Center in Nottwil, which is known worldwide for top-medicine and top-quality care. To pass on his knowledge, he began to teach as a staff member at the Higher Tertiary School of Health Central Switzerland in Lucerne as nursing teacher. There he worked as a teacher and project manager for several years. In addition to teaching, he also created training content that is used by educators at multiple training facilities around central Switzerland. To satisfy his thirst for knowledge, he completed his master's degree in Applied Ethics at the renowned University of Zurich. His master's thesis is on the topic of autonomy, dementia and living will. Kastriot Komani has been working as a Project Manager at BSDU since January 2019.
